Nordic Walking is a complete body training with special Carbon-sticks. This kind of movement in the mountains is particularly joint careful and energy saving. Moving differently: Use our guided Nordic Walking routes in the Glemmtal!

Saalbach Hinterglemm offers you 12 well signed and prepared running and Nordic Walking paths. Beginner or pro, everybody finds the ideal track! You will certainly allways be guided by terrific views and panoramas.

Fitness is the ideal source of fitness in modern times! Walking, hiking and climbing in the mountains are some of the most enjoyed leisure time activities in Europe.According to an opinion poll, more than half of all Central-Europeans are enjoying them – in Germany alone 37 million!With these impressive numbers we don´t really need to enquire about the health qualities of these attractive sports for nature lovers.But even then, there is no other leisure sport that demands such a good allround condition, for young and oldalike.Walking in the mountains activates almost every part of the body simultaneously. Going uphill, the heart, lungs and muscles are stimulated and on the return, the muscles, joints and bones – including the spine – are trained. There is no better way to be really fit and to prevent damage caused by our modern civilisation.

The mountains are a beautiful, fascination fitness studio, offering such a broad network of paths and cable-cars for everyone. The mountains around Saalbach Hintergelmm have an ideal and “healthy” altitude.

However, it is important to point out that certain rules must be respected to avoid injuries and accidents. That is why we strongly recommend all beginners to start off with a qualified walking guide, who can explain the necessary safety precautions and who will enable you to enjoy this beautiful mountain world to the full.

Hiking tips

Study the route on the map before you set off. Inform your host the route of your tour and the expected return time. Ask the locals for tips. Take note of the weather forecast. Never leave the marked paths. Avoid short cuts. In the spring do not walk over snow fields!

 

Smovey

smovey Vibroswing is a swinging-ring system and consists of a spiraled tube, four steels balls, and a grip with cushioning elements.

Using a forward motion, followed by an immediate countermovement, the steel balls begin to move freely within the tube. As the balls roll inside the grooved tube, they create a pulsating vibration in the palms of the user’s hands, which matches the natural vibration frequency of the human body.

In oder to transfer these vibrations into the palms as effectively as possible, smovey uses a hard plastic tube with a foam rubber grip. On either end of the tube is a dampening element with a very minimal memory effect.

The weight of one ring, at rest, is about one pound, and through the centrifugal force created by the swinging motion, the perceivable weight increases to almost 12 pounds.

Here in the Bike-Circus, newcomers to the sport and families will also find easy bike paths for cycling adventures that definitely live up to their promise. And a brand-new highlight:  we now connect into the 280 km-long Tauern Bike Path.

Hotel Egger guests play tennis for free the whole year!

In- and outdoor courts are reachable within 10 minutes by feet, 5 minutes by bycicle, 2 minutes by car.
